Dielectric Characterization

Contact: Marco Spirito

The dielectric characterisation setups are fully customized setups designed to determine the complex dielectric permittivity of different materials. We can characterize the dielectric materials using three different setups:

- Open-ended coaxial probe: Mounted on a motorized micromanipulator stage, it can extract sample properties from plastics, fruit multi-layered tissues, up to ~20 GHz.

- Antennas setup: Two directive antennas, pointing one at each other, where the dielectric material is placed in between them, covering an approximately frequency range between 140 and 220 GHz.

- Time Domain Spectroscopy: For sample characterization from 200 GHz up to 6 THz.
